WHAT IS THIS MEDICATION FOR?
Amitone 10mg is used to treat depression, anxiety, neuropathic pain, and certain sleep disorders. It may also be prescribed for migraine prevention and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Amitone contains Amitriptyline, a tricyclic antidepressant (TCA). It works by increasing the levels of norepinephrine and serotonin in the brain, improving mood and blocking pain signals in the nervous system.
HOW TO USE?
Take Amitone 10mg once daily, preferably at bedtime, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.
SIDE EFFECTS
Common: Drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation, dizziness, weight gain
Rare: Blurred vision, urinary retention, mood changes, irregular heartbeat
Report any severe or unusual side effects to your doctor.
WHAT TO DO IF I MISS A DOSE?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it's close to the next dose, skip the missed one. Do not double dose.
